"I don't care either way, so long as this wasn't your doing." Which it wasn't. They were just cheesy decorations. Scar stepped inside and set his bag down next to the couch.
Lust sighed and closed the door behind them. So much for escaping the holiday.
"Festive decor aside, it's a nice room."
Guttle, at least, was already doing his part. Clearly his Trainer and Trainer's Special Grumpy Friend did not want the delicious looking flowers just lying there waiting to be devoured. So he set to rolling over them and doing just that.
"Mm." Scar didn't much care one way or another what the room was like. He settled on the couch and let his Pokémon out; there was plenty of room for all of them.
He wasn't certain of what to do now, but Lust would think of something if she wanted to do something.
Lust began unloading her backpack as a flurry of rose petals was kicked up in Guttle's enthusiasm. He even gobbled up what was on the bed. And then rolled right back to the sitting room, tongue out, looking for anything missed.
Until Lust cleared her throat as she was piling the board games she'd brought from home on the coffee table. At the subtle reminder, the Spheal zoomed over to Scar, bumping against his leg to get his attention. And then leaned back, prominently displaying a lump in the scarf tied around him.
What passed for amusement for Scar briefly appeared in his eyes when Guttle bumped lightly into his leg. He was such a silly but endearing creature, even if he ate everything he set eyes on. Something contracted in Scar's chest, though, when he noticed that the Spheal seemed to be presenting him with something.
Rather, Lust seemed to be presenting him with something.
Scar reached down to take whatever it was from under Guttle's scarf, shooting a look across the room at Lust.
"He wanted to show his appreciation for the other night." She looked down at the table when she spoke, rather than at Scar. It was easiest, this way, using Guttle as a buffer.
Inside the scarf was what was commonly referred to as a multi-tool. She'd thought it would be useful, for Scar. It had all manner of small tools built into it - screwdriver, tweezers, magnifying glass, little clippers, a tool for prying, bottle opener, things like that. He spent so much time just wandering about without a permanent residence, it seemed like something he could make use of.
And Scar was the sort of man to be given useful, small gifts.
"Did he." She certainly had a funny way of going about avoiding the awkward emotions involved in giving gifts. Scar took the gift from Guttle and turned it over carefully in his hands. It was useful. Practical. He was silent for a moment, flicking open the different components and inspecting them before he finally spoke up.

The small gaggle of Munna seemed to be giggling.

"Thank you."
