[action: eastern route 29]
[Scar had left New Bark Town as quickly as he could when it became apparent that he wasn't the only one who had suddenly shown up. Questions could wait, and he certainly isn't about to out his identity to anyone who might be nearby.

So he can be found wading through the tall grass of Route 29 with a Zangoose at his side, whom he as named Amit. Scar is obviously still getting used to this Pokémon thing. The closest they have to creatures like these in Amestris were chimera.

Not a fun experience.

He moves warily, eyeing specifically any people who might be passing by. He needs to know if somebody is going to recognize him. So far, so good. But he never knows.]

The ledges at the southern entrance to route 46- are they impassible like the ones mentioned in the "Trainer Handbook?"

And if one were to go about finding manual work nearby, where should he look?

[action: south end of route 46]
[In spite of his text post, Scar is still lingering just north of the building that leads back to Route 29. No matter how he tries to climb the face of the ledge, he tumbles to the bottom. Over. And over.

Most of the other new arrivals are making their way westward, and this is precisely the reason that Scar is trying to force his way north. He needs to keep away from the crowds for now.

Amit, his Zangoose, waits not-so-patiently at the bottom. She knows what's up. He's so not getting to the top of that ledge.]

Most towns offer simple work such as working at inns. You can also work at PokeCenters, which is what I've been doing.

I've also heard that there's a Breeding Center for Pokemon in Goldenrod, although I haven't visited there just yet.

[Russell has wandered up this way too, though more out of curiosity than any need to avoid people. His Petilil bounces along side him as they both stop to observe the man who just can't get over that ledge.]

[Is he really going to keep doing that.]

Uh.

[Eloquence at it's finest.]

I don't think that's going to work.

Really? You show up in a whole new world full of magical animals and one of the first questions you ask is where can you get a manual labor job?

[At least Envy's assuming whoever this is is new. There's other newbies showing up and they don't know about the death ledges, they must have just shown up.]

[Congratulations, your first question reminds this girl of someone else, which might have something to do with the so called tone of this text reply.]

I'm sure everyone can think of something better to do than trying to climb those impossible ledges.

And there's Cherrygrove nearby, it takes three days to get there. You wouldn't get far after those ledges even if they were possible to climb, there's really not much to see behind them anyway.

[Not without help from people who've been here for a while, because they could get you anywhere, but... yeah.]

Yep. If you try, you'll fail, when it comes to climbing them...that's how the game works.
