[action: eastern route 29]
[Scar had left New Bark Town as quickly as he could when it became apparent that he wasn't the only one who had suddenly shown up. Questions could wait, and he certainly isn't about to out his identity to anyone who might be nearby.
So he can be found wading through the tall grass of Route 29 with a Zangoose at his side, whom he as named Amit. Scar is obviously still getting used to this Pokémon thing. The closest they have to creatures like these in Amestris were chimera.
Not a fun experience.
He moves warily, eyeing specifically any people who might be passing by. He needs to know if somebody is going to recognize him. So far, so good. But he never knows.]
[text]
The ledges at the southern entrance to route 46- are they impassible like the ones mentioned in the "Trainer Handbook?"
And if one were to go about finding manual work nearby, where should he look?
[action: south end of route 46]
[In spite of his text post, Scar is still lingering just north of the building that leads back to Route 29. No matter how he tries to climb the face of the ledge, he tumbles to the bottom. Over. And over.
Most of the other new arrivals are making their way westward, and this is precisely the reason that Scar is trying to force his way north. He needs to keep away from the crowds for now.
Amit, his Zangoose, waits not-so-patiently at the bottom. She knows what's up. He's so not getting to the top of that ledge.]

[At least Envy's assuming whoever this is is new. There's other newbies showing up and they don't know about the death ledges, they must have just shown up.]
[text]
[Not taking your shit, Envy.]
[text]
shouldn't you be heading to cherrygrove instead of trying to climb ledges?
[text]
It's more than worth it to avoid the crowd.
[text]
oh come on there aren't that many new people. is falling off a cliff a lot of times worth avoiding them?
[text]
[text]
You didn't happen to meet a guy with shark teeth and a stupid jacket, did you? because if you did then I don't blame you
[Because as far as Envy's concerned, meeting Greed is a perfectly good reason to avoid everyone in case they're also Greed.]
[text]
That mention of Greed, though. The homunculus...]
I may have briefly seen him.
[Only on the video, though. Blessedly.]
[text]
[TALKIN' SHIT ABOUT GREED BEHIND HIS BACK, AW YEAH]
good luck with those ledges then
[text]
Why wouldn't I?
[He mostly just wants to see how you're going to respond, Strange Person. Whatever you end up saying won't mean anything one way or the other. But after the nature of his conversation with Greed yesterday, he's curious. It's most likely that the homunculus simply rubbed someone the wrong way.
But...]
[text]
[Because really, what are the odds that three people would show up from Amestris on the same day? He might have been more careful back when there were a lot of them arriving, but now?]
[WHATEVER, NOBODY EVER CARES.]
[text]
I didn't realize people who knew one another were brought here. The odds seem too unlikely.
[Hahaha bullshit. Sorry, Envy, Scar kind of cares about everything.]
You weren't friendly, then?
[text]
[Too bad Envy has no idea that Scar is Scar or that he cares about everything.]
We used to work together, but not anymore. Idiot wanted to go off on his own.
[...however there are a lot of things that Envy doesn't tell people here about, and specifics on what he did back home is one of them.]
[text]
Unless Greed did other work that Scar doesn't know about. That is also something to consider.]
That makes him an idiot?
[text]
[Leaving didn't help, but Envy doesn't want to bring that up because he knows that would sound questionable as hell. He keeps a low profile in Johto, aside from being a sarcastic jerk to random strangers.]
but you could probably tell that if you met him.
[text]
Though he also can't imagine that he has no reason to lie, either.]
Arrogant, perhaps.
[text]
You don't talk much, do you?
[text]
About petty personality traits regarding a man whom I have just met? No, I do not.
[text]
Well I guess you've got me there, don't you?
But would you be talkative about anything else, I wonder?
[text]
Does it matter?
