Seeing that this snow has taken us completely by surprise, I trust that many are still out on the road and potentially too far from shelter to make it inside tonight.

[ So yer gonna get a survival guide whether you want it or not. ]

• Keep hydrated. It is easy to forget, in these conditions.
• Putting on a hat goes a long way.
• You are in more danger if you stop shivering. Keep moving, and do not sleep in freezing conditions.
• Alcohol does not keep you warm. It only gives the illusion of heat while making the situation worse.
• Your extremities will be the first to go. Expose your hands and feet as little as possible.
• Overheat too much and you will sweat, which in the long run, will make you much colder than when you started.
• Loose layers are better at keeping heat than tight athletic wear.
• Find or form a barrier against the wind.
• Clean clothing will insulate better than dirty clothing.

A tutorial on how to keep a fire going might not be a bad addition. With Fire-type Pokemon in abundance, lighting it isn't likely to be much of a problem, but building one that will stay lit on its own takes more than just stacking wood and hoping for the best.

That is good. Heavy reliance on Pokémon in general is shaky ground, considering how commonly accepted it is in this world.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong with utilizing their abilities, but having a backup set of options is never a bad thing.

Especially considering that many of the people here have never needed to survive alone like this, before.

[Though that's admittedly a bit difficult for Scar even relate to.]

It certainly does teach independence in a hurry, the traveling life around here.

Frankly, this weather reminds me of a certain December a few years back. Christmas of 2012 was a sight to behold, and not necessarily in a good way.

I have gathered that sudden bursts of cold are not normal like this, but was that winter just a particularly miserable one?

[ Scar is not so big on snow. He can deal with cold, but... not the snow. ]

There was an apocalyptic blizzard. The result of a Legendary Pokemon, though I don't think anyone ever discovered the purpose behind why it showed up.

Has there ever been any clear indication for Legendary Pokémon showing up without human provocation?

[ Because it really is the only true sour point of this odd world. ]

I don't recall anyone doing anything that provoked the golems. But by the same token, just because I'm not aware of it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

It seems that if residents of this world were less foolish about what they do to provoke them, there would be far fewer disasters.

I wonder what is to come, in this case.
